AICH is a free counselling service, available to anyone between the ages of 14 and 25, who lives in Huntingdonshire and Fenland. Counselling is a service provided by friendly, professional people in strict confidence. They offer help to young people who are experiencing difficult times or situations, for any reason; whether you are being bullied, have problems at home, have trouble controlling your anger or you feel depressed or anxious.
Their main office is in St Benedict’s court, Huntingdon.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are based at the Newtown Centre in Huntingdon and provides assessment and treatment for children or adolescents under 17 years with emotional, behavioural and developmental problems. The service works closely with other agencies including education, social services and child health services. The team has a wide range of skills and experience. There are a number of professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and occupational therapists, family therapist, community paediatricians and primary mental health workers. There are also social workers in the team, employed by Cambridgeshire County Council. The service is open Monday to Friday. Referrals are accepted from GPs, and other primary are providers, education, social services and the voluntary sector.

Young Carers are children and young people whose lives are affected by caring for a family member who has a disability, long term illness, mental health problem or who misuses drugs or alcohol. They may be the main carer or they may share just some of the caring responsibilities. The Young Carers project aims to give young carers the chance to meet with others in similar situations and have a break from caring and some fun. We currently run six groups and offer specialist one to one support, day trips and residentials. The project also runs focus days and short projects.

Cruse provides help for bereaved people in the Huntingdon health area. Free one-to-one counselling is available by trained counsellors. Support is also offered through social events and drop-ins in St. Ives, Huntingdon and St. Neots and you are welcome to call in for a chat and a coffee. The service is available for children as well as adults, and the counselling is provided by visiting people in their homes.

This is a drop-in information and advice service for 14-25 year olds. We aim to offer good quality free confidential advice to all young people. We have qualified counsellors available and a health worker who offers a general health enquiry service to young people. This includes free pregnancy testing and free condoms. Opening times are Monday 7.00-9.00pm (counselling available), Tuesdays 4.00-7.00pm, Wednesdays 7.00-9.00pm and Thursdays 4.00-7.00pm (health advisor available).

The Kite Project is a social and support group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered young people in the Cambridgeshire area. There are two youth groups. Kite One for under 18 year olds and Kite 2 for 18 – 25 year olds. The Kite Project is run by SexYOUality, a multi-agency voluntary organisation.

Paine’s Mill Foyer is a supported housing project that helps to accommodate young, single people between the ages of 16 and 25.
The accommodation is linked to work, training and education as the Foyer ethos is about helping young people to move on in their lives
by breaking the ‘no job, no home’ cycle.
The accommodation comprises seventeen bed sitting rooms with shared use of kitchens, laundry
and washing/toilets. There are also two self-contained units for residents with greater support needs. Staff are on site nearly twenty
four hours a day and are on hand to provide life skills training, information about work and training and support for residents.
The
Foyer also has a IT suite, that provides Learndirect courses and access to the internet to both residents and members of the public.
